FAQ

  • Why should I hire a professional pet photographer?

Hiring a professional pet photographer goes beyond just taking cute pictures of your furry friend. A professional pet photographer, such as The Doggy Did It Pet Photography, understands your pet’s behaviour and knows how to work with animals that are anxious, energetic, or reactive.

The Doggy Did It Pet Photography also uses top of the line equipment to ensure sharp, well-exposed, and beautifully composed images, as well as custom designs a session to fit your pet’s personality and your preferences—be it action shots on the trail or cozy portraits in a garden.

The Doggy Did It Pet Photography also provides archival quality artwork; timeless keepsakes that preserve your pet’s memory and fill your home with joy, even after they’re gone.

  • My dog needs to stay on leash, will that be a problem?

This is probably the most commonly asked question of pet photographers. You are likely looking at portfolios of all the scenic outdoor locations with dogs off leash. You’d probably never guess that actually 90% or more of The Doggy Did It Photography sessions are actually done on leash. Safety first, right?

Your final images from The Doggy Did It Pet Photography will be professionally edited to remove the leash (and sometimes even the people attached to them). So worry not, you can still get those gorgeous scenic outdoor portraits with your dog on leash.

The simple answer is, No problem at all!

  • My dog is anxious / shy / not yet trained. Will that be an issue?

The safety and security of your pet is very important, so a professional pet photographer, such as The Doggy Did It Pet Photography, will never ask your pet to do something your pet (or you) are not comfortable with.

Amy Tendera at The Doggy Did It Pet Photography has years of experience working with all types of animal behaviours and will make sure your session will progress at a pace that works well for everyone involved, including your pet. You will work together to create the most suitable environment for capturing those great images of your pet.

Besides, you will be doing all of the handling, so you’re always in control.

  • What can I expect at a professional pet photography session?

Since each pet is unique, each session should also be unique. Professional pet photographers, such as The Doggy Did It Pet Photography, custom design a session around your specific needs and wants, so one session can be very different from the next, while still delivery top quality results each time.

But there's no reason to feel nervous if you choose a pet photographer with experience. The Doggy Did It Pet Photography has over 12 years of dog photography experience, so you can be confident you are in good hands.

Your initial consult will determine your session specifics, and you will be able to ask as many questions as you want. Your photographer will be there to guide you every step of the way.

  • Can people be included in the photographs with the pets?

Yes, The Doggy Did It Pet Photography offers session that can include all the pets and people you love most. However, as primarily a pet photographer, the work will mostly be focused on getting great looking images of your pet.

Strategies for including your family in your session should be discussed during your initial consultation.

  • What if it rains on my outdoor session date?

If it rains on your outdoor session date your photographer should be able to reschedule to a date that work for both of you, or you can switch to an on-location indoor studio session.

Making sure you get the images you want, and doing it safely, is top priority so outdoor sessions will always be rescheduled if there is lightening or extreme weather. If the forecast calls for it, we can set up a back-up session date in advance so rescheduling will be a breeze (pun intended).
